Ask #1 Muchacho - Gas Strike?
Ask #1 Muchacho is a weekly column which features real questions from real readers, and answers by LGT's own #1 Muchacho. If you would like to submit a question to be featured in this column, Contact Us Here.

Dear #1 Muchacho,
I heard there is a gas strike on May 2nd. I was told if everyone abstains from buying gas for that one day, we will cost the oil companies like $70 billion dollars. Will this actually work? And if so, is it actually a good thing?

365 Days - A Reflection on Ron Paul
Anyone who reads this blog knows that we're far from serious over here at LGT. In fact, we celebrate the concept of living a non conformist lifestyle and simply enjoying your life however you damn well please. Well, today, in the spirt of the presidential primary races going on, I'm going to write an article on someone who has made a big impact on my life in the last year: Dr. Ron Paul.
For those of you who aren't familiar with him, simply search for "Ron Paul" on google or youtube. You'll find a wealth of information. Ron Paul is a Republican congressman from Texas serving in his 10th term. He's also an MD who has delivered over 4,000 babies and is running for President of the United States.
There is a video below the fold which gives a good introduction to his beleifs. Here is a summary on where he stands on some issues:
- Strict Constitutionalist. He follows the law of the land vehemently and believes any paths straying from the constitution are either illegal or should be amended the proper way.
- Supports the immediate withdrawal of U.S occupation in Iraq. Voted against the Iraq war since day one.
- Supports free markets and trade with all nations. Alliances with no one, trade with everyone.
- Against Patriot Act, NSA wiretapping, torture, and just about anything that infringes on Constitutional rights.
- Supports the regulation and legalization of all drugs (we obviously love this) in the same manner Alcohol is legal and regulated. The government can't control what people put into there bodies through law. They never have and never will. He believes we should treat drug addicts as patients with an illness, rather than criminals. Amen.
