Get Tight Right, With Greg - Getting Tight at a Wedding Tasting
Get Tight Right, With Greg is a monthly column written by Greg, an associate writer for LGT. This column is dedicated to unique and odd places to get tight.
A couple of weeks ago, my family joined Kate (my fiancée) and I for our food tasting at the Providence RI Biltmore Hotel (site of our upcoming wedding). The anticipation of this event was building inside of me for months. I was definitely looking forward to tasting the food that we are going to spend way too much money on.
A little background info: The wedding industry is huge. These guys make money hand over fist, so it’s important for the venue to keep everyone happy. What a better way to keep everyone pacified, than to get everyone tight?
These things are usually on a Sunday; late afternoon. Since football season just ended, I’m still used to getting tight on Sundays. So I’m itching to do something. Yea, getting tight at the spot where you’re ready to sign your life away can be a blessing and a curse at the same time.
Get Tight Right, With Greg - Airport Tightness

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit it. I love to get tight. Often, on the weekends (and sometimes the weekdays) I really push the limit. Often pounding back 12-16 beers, 2+ Sparks, a couple of shots and maybe a few Kettle One/Vodkas. Not to mention the occasional toke or two. Yea, this is usually a weekend night (not that I am very proud of this) and it’s a lot of fun.I feel great when I am numb and tight; life is perfect. I am not condoning this or bragging as I know it’s not a very classy thing or a good influence for the younger kids.
Ok, with this being said, I realized something very valuable earlier today; it has to do with travel and being in an airport. I was at the airport waiting for my delayed flight to get in so we could board the plane. I was through security before 10 am (my original flight was supposed to leave @11 a.m. but was delayed until Noon) and sitting down at the food court with a nice cup of Starbucks coffee. It was actually a tall double latte and tasted fantastic, not to mention it was a form of instant tightness.
I was sitting at the table killing some time (mostly on the Blackberry) and had a great view of the Wolfgang Puck bar. At this point, the airport is pretty busy and people are going on all cylinders (it was still only 10:10 am). Something started to seem odd to me here. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing; couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I realized it was only slightly after 10 a.m. and there were people at the bar already getting tite! Not young “cool” people but old, I mean older than I would have thought. Loving it, loving the booze.
