Peanutkill here and welcome to the first installment of Art Rat. Here I’ll do my best to talk about stuff I pretend I know about. We’ll cover artists from across the globe that do rad work, no Anne Geddes bullshit. If you don’t know who Anne Geddes is, do yourselves a favor and don’t click this link AnnGeddes.com. Your eyes will thank me later.

0.jpgLet’s get started. Stefan Sagmeister, one of the most influential living designers, is coming to Boston to give us all a nice lecture. Most people know him for his album art, which he has created for Lou Reed, Talking Heads, and the Rolling Stones. He also had his intern carve into his chest with an x-acto knife, and then photographed it.

Since then he’s done a shit ton of work for his company, and he also has a new book. In this he shows a series of work, which initially started as a list in his diary titled “Thing I Have Learned So Far”. He was able to take this list and showcase it in typical advertising spots across the world. In many ways, it’s a big fuck you to traditional advertising; and is an inspiration to anyone who doesn’t want to sell their soul to the devil.

If you want to see Stefan Sagmeister get tight at the ICA in Boston on April 25th, buy tickets before they sell out. Get Tickets. Buy his new book here Amazon
