"It's called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it" - George Carlin
Monday, June 23, 2008 at 02:16PM Last night the comedy world lost another good soul. George Carlin passed away of heart failure. As it turns out, he was 71 years old and has still been performing until last week. He was on the original broadcast of Saturday Night Live in 1975 and had some pretty awesome jokes.
Anyone who's seen his HBO specials, heard his comedy albums, or saw him on Shining Time Station (PBS) will agree that he was a wizard with words and seemed like a really great dude.
Thanks for the laughs boss. Maybe we'll see you on the otherside if we're lucky. Rest in peace.

He was the man. He challenged convention with humor and wit and I will for-EVER be thankful for his rants on everything from immigration to the word "soon"...Peace out George. Love ya bruddah.
